The beautiful Kenilworth homes in Northern Virginia.Northern Virginia is a great place to live, work, and go to school. One of the things that makes the region so great is the abundance of small, treasure-box-like communities, each with their own charm and appeal. The Washington Post recently turned the spotlight on a tiny community in Fairfax County. Kenilworth is located in Fairfax and consists of nine single-family homes constructed by Christopher Companies.

Kenilworth boasts a great location, with George Mason University just two miles to the west. Two local parks are perennial favorites with families: Holmes Run Stream Valley Park, with its playground, tot lot, picnic tables, ball court, and abundant tree cover, and Lake Accotink Park, which is best known for its historic carousel. It also has a picnic area and boat rentals for visitors to enjoy the lake. University Mall Shopping Center is nearby, offering plenty of retail, a supermarket, and a movie theater. Kenilworth is situated on Braddock Road/Virginia Route 620, which is at Exit 54 off the outer loop of the Beltway/Interstate 495. Virginia Route 50 is to the north. Commuters can take the Virginia Railway Express via two lines that stop at Union Station Metro on the Red line. Residents of Kenilworth told the Post that the community is very commuter-friendly.

?A great description of a Kenilworth home from the Washington Post:

“Exterior facades are composed of brick, stone and HardiePlank siding. There’s an HVAC system on the main level and electric heat pump upstairs. Hardwood floors run through entryway, hall, kitchen and breakfast area. An open staircase with oak stairs in the foyer rises to the second floor. A gas fireplace in the great room, off the kitchen, is framed with a marble surround. The kitchen is outfitted with GE stainless-steel appliances, granite counters, wall oven and microwave combo, five-burner gas cooktop and breakfast nook. The master bedroom suite has two walk-in closets. The master bathroom has a soaker tub and oversize shower with tiled seat and glass enclosure. The secondary bedroom has an en suite bathroom; bedrooms three and four share a hall bathroom.”

There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Square footage ranges from just under 4,500 square feet to 4,900.

?With the two houses still available, the builder is offering a finished basement (consisting of a rec room, media room, bedroom, and bathroom) for a limited time.
